Plastics Recycling Drive

Friday, March 13th, 2015

The Four Corners Recycling Initiative is hosting the first plastics recycling drive Friday, March 13th, 2015.  Various schools in the Montezuma area will be participating, with the Southwest Open High opening their collection site to the public at the Lifeway Baptist Church (see location below).   Plastics number 1 and 2 will be accepted at that site between 9:00 and 2:00 on that day.  Schools that will be collecting in-house are, Kemper, Kiva, and Dolores High School.  The students at the Southwest Open High have been working to collect plastics one and two for a pilot project to determine if it is possible to bale and transport plastics as commodities from Montezuma County.
Many of the area high schools have a requirement to be self sustaining to enable them to comply with grants received for construction.  This project is also sponsored by a generous donation to FCRI from Osprey's Local's pack sale, which took place last November, for which we thank them sincerely.  For more information, contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We need more recycling capacity.

Help us raise $2800 for one additional bin pickup per month at the Dolores and Mancos school locations.

We are picking up recycling from Dolores and Mancos two times per month, but it's not enough. There is more demand: our bins are overflowing with recyclables, and we need another pickup. We need your help.

Donate now to help us raise the funds needed to add an additional pickup per month to Dolores and Mancos. You will be helping recycling in our schools and in the community.

All contributions are 100% tax deductible. If you prefer to donate offline, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
